1508: Supporting menopause through digital design

June 23, 2026

Half of the population experience menopause, and one in three will experience symptoms that significantly affect their quality of life. Yet knowledge, support and research remain limited. To help address this gap, design agency 1508 developed a personalised menopause app in collaboration with the Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse) that provides evidence-based knowledge, practical tools and symptom tracking.

Transforming care through human-centred design

Menopause can have a huge influence on the body and mind and can negatively affect the ability to manage daily tasks, both privately and professionally. To support people navigating this, 1508 and the Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse) created the app meno that enables users to track symptoms, identify patterns, and understand which measures are effective.

Based on user needs, systemic challenges, and brand values, 1508 has designed a stress-relieving and optimistic digital knowledge universe that provides women experiencing menopause with a solid foundation for action.

The app functions as a comprehensive menopause kit, offering personalised information and practical tools that give users an overview of their individual menopause experience and how best to manage it. Beyond providing knowledge and guidance, the initiative supports open conversations about menopause and helps create a sense of calm, hope and control.

Despite affecting half the population, menopause remains surrounded by taboos and myths and is often mistakenly associated with cancer. The Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse) is an NGO dedicated to addressing vulnerable health issues and collaborating with the country’s leading gynaecologists on cancer research. Through this work, the organisation seeks to increase awareness about menopause while raising funds for further research in women’s health.

Despite these massive numbers, we still don’t know much about menopause. We don’t talk about it or cater to it as a society. We believe that must change.
