In 1910, Georg Jensen (1885–1939) established a modern textile factory in Kolding. He collaborated with some of the leading Danish artists of the time, including Knud V. Engelhardt. The second generation, Bent Georg Jensen, took over the business and named the company “Georg Jensen Damask”. He was very passionate about creating designs with the balance of craftsmanship and functionality.
The brand maintains high standards for both the quality and functionality of their textiles. They carefully select the best experts in producing the products and often collaborates with family-run weaving mills to support local businesses. In the partnerships, they have a strong focus on environmental considerations and the human rights which are the basic principles underlying the UN Global Compact.
