HarritSorensen is an award-winning Danish industrial design firm designs industrial solutions that solve both business and user problems.
In 2011, together with Nordic Cable Factory (NKT), HarritSorensen made a redesign of NKT’s classical cable drum. They collaboratively designed a new, unique integrated drum and trolley, named the Qaddy®. The drum is easy to manoeuvre and can be used on multiple surfaces. Furthermore, it decreases the risks of work-related injuries and prevents back and shoulder pain, as it does not have to be lifted around. The drum can be handled by just one person, and a test by The Secretariat of Education for the Electrical and Plumbing Industry (EVU) shows that a 60 % time-saving is achieved when using the Qaddy®, compared to a standard cable drum.
