The Danish Pavilion at Seoul Living Design Fair 2025 showcases innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Curated by Lærke Ryom, it features eight leading Danish brands, highlighting Denmark’s timeless yet forward-thinking design approach.
"The Danish design tradition is built on a legacy of craftsmanship, human-centred values, and sustainability. This approach not only creates timeless aesthetics but also enhances wellbeing in everyday life - an aspect that strongly resonates with the growing interest in holistic and meaningful living in South Korea."
An integral part of the Danish design tradition is focusing on the user and designing for human needs. Danish designers create functional pieces without compromising on aesthetic values. The groundwork for the Danish interior design industry was laid by designers such as Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, and Finn Juhl, solidifying the concepts of 'Danish Design' and 'Danish Modern’. Since then, the Danish interior design tradition has further developed, adapting new materials and production methods, but the classics remain iconic and well-known around the world. Today, Danish designers continue to push boundaries, embracing circular methods, innovative materials, and digital technologies to create solutions that benefit both people and the planet.
This approach resonates well in South Korea, where design balances heritage and innovation. Both traditions emphasise craftsmanship, sustainability, and technological integration, creating a natural connection. South Korea’s focus on high-quality materials and minimalist aesthetics aligns with Denmark’s user-centred and eco-friendly solutions, and events like Seoul Living Design Fair foster collaboration, inspiring new ideas and helping to shape the future of design. The Fair attracts a diverse global audience of over 200,000 enthusiasts in design, architecture, and cultural exploration and takes place in the last week of February 2025.

"The Pavilion reflects the Danish commitment to material consciousness, aesthetics, and a deep connection to nature. The space is designed to highlight both individuality and shared experiences, offering visitors an immersive and sensorial journey into the essence of Danish design."
